The new major version of VirtualBox requires a network kernel module.  Too
bad, if it is missing, the error is totally nondescriptive:

The error can be explained with some googling, but that definitely shouldn't
be required.  Could you please say "you need to modprobe or /etc/modules
vboxnetflt" in the message?
