Unfortunately I am still seeing this with 3.0.6. However something I
noticed since my last mail is that if I log out and in again, the black
box goes away!

On the off-chance that this is caused by a malfunctioning VBoxClient
process I tried killing them off one by one, but this doesn't fix it.

I can try installing lenny and seeing if this is easy to reproduce from
a fresh install.
