Thank you for your contribution to Debian.

However, it seems to me virtualbox 4.0.16 never made its way into
Debian testing/unstable, so what you're asking for is really something
different than uploading a backport: it's uploading to
squeeze-backports a new upstream version that was never tested
in Debian.

So, please realize your request is unusual to say the least, and in
clear violation of how the backports repository presents itself to the
world [0]. Some Debian users enable the backports repository on their
systems based on this definition.

For it to be considered seriously, I think a request to do something
that unusual needs to be backed with pretty solid arguments; given
a backport of the package currently in testing (4.1.8) would solve all
the technical concerns you've expressed against 4.0.10, the only
reason you've provided for uploading 4.0.16 instead was "Personally,
I still deploy 4.0 in stable environments". Your personal habits and
preferences are important, but I don't think it's enough to make an
exception to the definition of the backports repository.

In any case, I'm sure the VirtualBox packaging team is very interested
in hearing about the bugs that affect the version currently in
testing/unstable, and prevent you from using it.

Regards,
