Based on your comment in the bug report, I checked on the make-dfsg 
package. There are many patches in there and I'm no expert on such tools 
like kmk.

Do you know of the patch you were mentioning ? If it is a single patch, 
we may carry. But looking at the make-dfsg patches, it does not look so.
