Subject: libvdeplug2: libvdeplug load fails silently, so the vd0 interface is not created
Package: libvdeplug2
Version: 2.2.2-3
Severity: normal
*** Please type your report below this line ***
Until I installed libvdeplug2-dev, loading the lwipv6 module would only
create the loopback interface, not the vd0.
While umview does find /usr/lib/libvdeplug.so.2, the child process
that is spawned doesn't find it. (found with strace -f)
The child process finds /usr/lib/libvdeplug.so if it is there,
and libvdeplug2-dev makes that symbolic link.
Discovering this without knowing how to use strace with the -f option
is non-trivial. I got no error message.
