[pkg-wine-party] Accepting new wine contributors?

Hi,

I would very much like to help with the wine packaging. I've recently
prepared a patch for wine-unstable and sent it to the mailing list for
review [0]. I think this is very useful as it the build failures
currently keeping the package out of testing.

I am also willing to help prepare the new upstream versions (1.1.36
through latest) for wine-unstable that need to go into the archive.

To help do this, it would be very useful to have write access to the
git repo. I requested to join the pkg-wine alioth project almost 6
months ago now, but have yet to receive a response on that. Also,
Stephen Kitt has made some significant improvements to the package
recently, but even so he has not been accepted on the alioth team.

I understand that Ove has limited time, so new contributions have the
potential to greatly improve the status of the wine package. I also
understand that there is some risk in taking on new people (e.g. they
may break something). I would argue that kind of risk is acceptable
since progress can be monitored and moderated either via shaming,
rolling back work, or (in really extreme or malicious cases) banning
from the team.

Anyway, it would be nice to have the chance to try to improve the
current situation; especially with the rfh that has been out there for
almost four years now [1]. Thanks for your consideration.

Best wishes,
Mike
