I think all of this is very interesting research as a potential
approach for wheezy+1, but at this point, I'm much more comfortable
with the existing approach; especially since it has already seen a few
weeks of testing.

There is the one (simple) RC bug with wine64-bin right now, and I plan
to fix that soon, when I find some free time.
