Thanks for hunting this down.  I've gone ahead and sponsored this myself
(so, um, I guess it's not strictly an NMU now, but whatever).  I
imported it into git-dpm for my own convenience, so it's not exactly
identical to your source package, but the differences are only in minor
details of patch formatting.

Can you deal with requesting the unblock from the release team?
