We had the fonts there in the past.  AFAIK we only moved them to the
current position, because back then there was a bug in Wine which
required fonts to be in a specific place.  But this is fixed now, so I
think, we can probably do that.


Did you successfully test this for "the other purpose"?  AFAIK the Wine
fonts are greatly reduced in which glyphs they provide.  On the other
site those are probably very uncommon glyphs.

If we move the fonts, then I guess we have to move all fonts.  Not only
the ttf (marlett.ttf, symbol.ttf, tahomabd.ttf, tahoma.ttf,
wingding.ttf), but also a bunch of *.fon fonts.  Does anyone know if
they work for other applications, and if they are acceptable for a
system-wide position at all?
