Sure, it would be much easier if the old init script would still ship with 
wpasupplicant ;-)

But as long as there isn't anything like that you should not break working 
setups if not *really* necessary.

Sure, that would be great.

Sure I can. But only after the upgrade broke my setup without necessity.

Which effort? All I had to do was add INTERFACES="wlan" 
in /etc/default/ifplugd. (Actually I did this via "dpkg-reconfigure 
ifplugd"). Integration with guessnet might be more complicated though.

I don't think so. The upgrade breaks working setups. That's not really 
necessary, hence it should not happen.
