[pkg-wpa-devel] Another note on wpa_gui and the new configuration scheme

Hi again,

have you noticed that the new configuration scheme (even in mode 2) is not 
really compatible with wpa_gui?

Usually (with a wpa_supplicant daemon running) you can use wpa_gui to control 
wpa_supplicant in order to connect to an AP. After you have connected you can 
use ifconfigure or ifup to setup or bring up your network interface.

Within the new configuration scheme you have to ifup the interface in order to 
be able to use wpa_gui at all. That feels very strange to me! 

If you haven't already put the right settings in /etc/network/interfaces for 
that AP you're going to have some trouble, aren't you? (For DHCP it works 
with the dhclient script, though.)
