It's OK for me, too, in a mode 1 setting.

Funny typo, btw :-)

I personally think that even for such a setup some features from a "roaming 
solution" are beneficial. Here's a real world example:

Changing settings of my router requires the WLAN to be reinitialized in most 
cases (even settings unrelated to WLAN). This causes trouble if I configure 
the router from my WLAN connected notebook in a mode 1 setting. (Not much 
trouble, but I have to ifdown and ifup the interface again.)
