madwifi supports wext as of r1499.

I had the pleasure of committing the contributed patch to madwifi svn.

I am also debian madwifi maintainer, and believe that madwifi-ng 
includes should only be included when madwifi-ng is in the distribution. 
Currently madwifi-ng sits in the NEW queue, when it enters experimental 
I'd like to completely drop support for madwifi-old and include only 
madwifi-ng headers as a patch to the experimental branch of the 
wpasupplicant package.

I will also consider your patch very carefully (this response is an 
immediate reaction, have not looked at your code yet :-) ).
