[pkg-wpa-devel] wpa_supplicant config problem after a recent unstable upgrade

Dear wpa_supplicant maintainers,

I was wondering if you could clarify how to deal with the
wpa_action thing...

I have a relatively simple (I think) WEP wireless network and it was
working before a recent upgrade of debian unstable. After the upgrade
it stopped working and I got a message about wpa_action.

I read the man page and thought, that the only thing I should do
is to edit the /etc/network/interfaces file and remove
wpa_action string (which was pointing to
/etc/wpa_supplicant/supplicant.conf)

This however did not restore the network connectivity.

The only way I can connect is to change
iface .... dhcp
to
iface .... manual
and manually run dhcp to get the ip address.

Based on the results, I think that my understanding of simply
removing wpa_action was wrong. But from reading the manual pages
I do not see what else has to be changed. Could you suggest
what should be done. Maybe it is described somewhere, as it must be
a common problem, I just could not find any information.

Thank you very much for your kind help

Lazar
