Hi,
My question is are my wpa-* setting the equivalent of my iwconfig
settings? My problem , after bringing up eth1, wpa settings don't show
up when running iwconfig. Other access points work ok, but I've never
been able to set the ssid using wpa.
This works
/sbin/iwconfig eth1 essid NETGEAR channel 6 key 12345678901234567890123456
This does not work (from /etc/network/interfaces)
mapping eth1
script grep
map eth1-work
map eth1-home
map eth1-rents
iface eth1-rents inet dhcp
wpa-driver ipw
wpa-ssid NETGEAR
wpa-key-mgmt NONE
wpa-wep-key0 "12345678901234567890123456"
wpa-wep-tx-keyidx 0
Versions
wpasupplicant 0.4.8-4
ipw2200 2.4
This is what I get from wpa_client, with config from /etc/network/interfaces.
Connection to wpa_supplicant lost - trying to reconnect
Connection to wpa_supplicant re-established
