IMHO, this is the intended behaviour of all good wifi modules, something
is definitely strange here; I suspect that wpa_supplicant may not be
launching due to the use of the 'wpa-driver ndiswrapper' option, but I
am not 100% sure about that . . . In this case, wpa_supplicant would not
bind to the interface, but it would still be ifup'd, and thus would
connect to the open access point.
