Hi Kyle and Reinhard (and list),

Well, we have now a pretty cutting edge in the unstable branch 
(0..5.3+20060522-2) that breaks support for madwifi.

The reaction to this has been quick, but we should still expect some 
sort of "angry user backlash".

The pkg-madwifi team have reacted, by making the required changes to 
have new madwifi uploaded to unstable ASAP. It will sit in the NEW queue 
for a few weeks.

http://wiki.debian.org/WPA has been updated to relay some information.

http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/Distro/Debian will also contains notes 
about the situation as well as instructions on where to get madwifi-ng. 
I will be making changes to that wiki _as_soon_ as I have made changes.

Last, but not least, we've added the madwifi-old includes to the source 
package again, along with instructions on how to enable them in NEWS.Debian.

And, we'd best make an upload containing these counter measures pretty 
soon, if possible. Reinhard will have more to say about this later.
