We've prepared and tested the new upstream wpa_supplicant, 0.5.4. It is 
at the following location:

Would you mind uploading it please?

Please note: an init script, 'wpa-ifupdown' is now installed, and is 
called in runlevel 0 and 6 just before sendsigs. Its purpose is to 
ifdown any interface that is under the influence of a wpa_supplicant 
daemon started by our own ifupdown.sh script.
