[pkg-wpa-devel] problems with 0.5.5-1

Hi,

I just tried wpasupplicant 0.5.5-1 from Debian unstable and got 2 problems:
* the wireless interface is not renamed by udev anymore
* network-manager seems to think that the wireless interface is a wired one
Downgrading back to 0.5.4-1 fixes the problem.

Some other people have seen the same problems, and it seems that
rmmod+modprobe ipw2200 makes the interface works as usual. Is this
problem known and supposed to be fixed soon? Or should I fill a RC bug
in the Debian BTS so that 0.5.5-1 does not enter testing in the next
days? This seems so huge to me that I'd rather have your opinion before
filling a RC bug report.

FYI, I am using ipw2200 1.2.0 on Debian/testing with 2.6.18 on a
Thinkpad T43.

Thanks,
Brice Goglin
