Package: wpasupplicant
Version: 0.5.5-2
Followup-For: Bug #409076

Hi,

I faced a very similar issue, and though the solution I found is
different, I think that it's the same issue and does only appear with certain
drivers. Check
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zd1211/+bug/103366 and the
entry "Conn said on 2007-04-10", I could imagine that the effect is the
same as adding wireless-essid in /etc/network/interfaces.

Hope this shades some light,
Eric
