-h output displays:
usage:
  wpa_supplicant [-BddhKLqqtuvwW] [-P<....etc

-w option is included in -h "usage" output and should not be since this 
option was removed in version 0.6.2+git20080202.gde6ccd7-1

-w is not described in the options section further down the -h output, 
or in the manpages:
  -q = decrease debugging verbosity (-qq even less)
  -u = enable DBus control interface
  -v = show version
  -W = wait for a control interface monitor before starting
  -N = start describing new interface
