Yes, from what I understood 4.4 should be out this coming winter (hopefully
not the souther hemisphere one).
I hope that by putting it in current development ubuntu it will get greater
exposure and maybe get stabilized quicker.
But to make sure I think I'll ask on the xfce-devel list too.
Anyway at least thunar will be in next ubuntu. And if xfce4.4 is not ready
we stay with 4.2 but there probably won't be both and a choice for users
(confusion, CD space limits, maintainability)

Sure, not unstable as it just got 4.2.3. But if it could go in experimental
that would be great as well
as ubuntu packages are sometimes synced from there on request. So if you put
it in experimental we'll get it in ubuntu.

I have checked out your svn pkg-xfce repo from alioth and started looking at
it. I'd like to help you if you can with packaging,
if not more than at least building current svn on ubuntu so that what you
upload works on both distros.
I intend to install a sid chroot as well.
