What i meant was that IMHO, the menu button should be present in the
panel by default (so that user doesn't have to add it by him/herself).

I suggested that to Benny previously. I think, you could have two
packages (xfce4-mixer-oss and xfce4-mixer-alsa) which would both
provide xfce4-mixer and (if that's required) conflict with each other.
That would let the end-user choose whichj package to install. How
about that? ;)
