I don't really understand why the zone isn't just 1 or 2 pixels wide
rather than a 100 or more.

I wouldn't call it unusable (so it probably should be a Wishlist
item), but its really annoying because I have to look to see where the
mouse pointer has ended up (I'd suggest that its an unintuitive user
interface) and if I have done it by accident (when going for a
scrollbar on the edge of a workspace, typically) I have to drag the
mouse several inches to the left (to get it to swap back to the other
workspace) and then several inches to the right to get back to where I
was.

I suspect that eventually I'll get annoyed enough to change window
managers (again).
