Package: xfce4-panel
Version: 4.2.3-1
Severity: important

Hi,

xfce4 is uninstallable (and partly unbuildable due to uninstallable
B-Ds) on hurd-i386 due to the Depends: on procps for many packages.

This is of course because you use pkill in postinst to send SIGUSR1 to
xfce-mcs-manager. The problem is that pkill is not available on the
Hurd.

In order to have a working XFCE4 on the Hurd (it's only desktop
environment which really used work quite well on it), would it be
possible to remove the procps dependency from the xfce4 packages or
(alternatively) replace the pkill call with something involving ps, grep
and kill and dropping it alltogether?

I'm filing this for xfce4-panel, but it applies to most other XFCE4
packages as well, AFAICT.

Michael
