I didn't have this problem until today. I had a problem[1] with gtk2.0 which
gave me the following output:

"(jpeg:5689): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: 'xfce',"

Version 2.3.99.2-1 of gtk2-engines-xfce was installed, so I fetched a newer
version from experimental (and I'm currently running sid). 

Now xfce4-appfinder doesn't[2] want to play. I also tried a backtrace[3] just like
a few others have tried before me.
