It fixed the problem (also with xfce4-menu-plugin).
Btw, a solution can be that it can stop parsing the xml file when it encounters
</xfdesktop-menu> (for menu.xml.*) or </xfce-registered-categories> (for
xfce-registered-categories.xml.*)
