I already replied to your email but it doesn't appear here. It is 
largely superseded by what others here have reported.

Anyway, like the other users I too have ScummVM in Games on my home desktop.

On the other hand, my work desktop (also Debian testing) doesn't have 
ScummVM and works fine.

I will read the workarounds and try one. Thanks everyone.
