After last night's xorg upgrade everything works as advertised (with or
without gdm). As far as I'm concerned everything is ok.
 Only the symbol for my ThinkVantage changed (now it generates
XF86Launch1 instead of XF86VendorHome), so I just had to reconfigure the
respective shortcut. Also a 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg' cleaned up
my xorg.conf *very* thoroughly:
$ grep -v '^#' /etc/X11/xorg.conf | wc -l
If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.
