That looks a bit like #478012 but in the end it was a config problem.
Could you retry with a fresh user, just to be sure?

Could you check if you use compositing? Check in Settings manager,
Window Manager tweaks, last tab. Check if the setting is greyed out or
not, and if it's selected or not.

And could you tell us which xorg driver you use?
