Could you monitor the bus for tumbler to ensure that thumbnailing
requests are passed correctly?

Running:

dbus-monitor --session --monitor interface=org.freedesktop.thumbnails.Thumbnailer1

in a terminal and then opening a Thunar window should show some arrays
of uris and mimetypes passed from thunar, and tumbler's reply, if
everything goes well.

Also, is it reproducible with any video file, or only a given type? Does
the installation of some extra gstreamer plugins such as
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg improve the situation?
