Then I guess it's a change in the kernel part. Not sure if it's really a
bug or just an evolution though, but I'll reassign.

Linux maintainers: The original reporter seems to have a regression with
3.12 kernel, where an alsa control disappeared on upgrade. I'm not sure
if it's something which has been replaced or if it's real regression.
