Package: xfce4-terminal
Version: 0.4.8-1+b1
Followup-For: Bug #651277
Dear Maintainer,
I'd been using xfce4-terminal just recently again and noticed a very
high memory usage. At first it's reasonably OK, using around 15% of
memory on this 2Gb Asus eeePC 1000H netbook. After several hours it
increases to over 1Gb memory usage. Incidentally, the process CPU
usage is also very high, around 70%.
I decided to follow the advice given earlier and to use valgrind with
your suggested parameters. Following a reboot I used:
$ G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly valgrind --tool=memcheck \
--leak-check=full --show-reachable=yes -v --log-file=valgrind.log xfce4-terminal
and let it run for just over 8 hours. I've attached the log file.
I have essentially the same OS and version on my desktop machine,
a 64bit system. The problem does not occur on that machine.
Cheers,
Neil.
