Yes it's unrelated to logging out, it's related to the vt switch, somehow.

Yes, unfortunately that bugs apparently messes with debbugs or so.

In any case, it definitely look like the same bug, which needs to be fixed in
xserver-xorg-video-intel. In the meantime , you can also remove the package
and use the modesetting driver (which is included in the xserver-xorg-core
package).
