I agree, I already changed this bug accordingly. But please not that I
am not the maintainer, I even don't use the vorbisinfo quite often.

Yes, this is at least confusing (and IMHO contradicting the man page)
and should be changed.

No need to excuse. And yes, you can report this issues to Debian as
well. Just the severity was a little exaggerated (but better be safe
than sorry). 

I hope the maintainer off vorbisinfo contacts you soon to give you his
insight on this bug.
