Package: libao2
Version: 0.8.8-3
Severity: normal

I'm trying to play an mp3 file with mpg321, which is using libao for
audio output. It fails like this:

>> mpg123 Type\ O\ Negative\ -\ 07\ -\ World\ Coming\ Down.mp3
High Performance MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 Audio Player for Layer 1, 2, and 3.
Version 0.59q (2002/03/23). Written and copyrights by Joe Drew.
Uses code from various people. See 'README' for more!

Playing MPEG stream from Type O Negative - 07 - World Coming Down.mp3 ...
MPEG 1.0 layer III, 128 kbit/s, 44100 Hz joint-stereo

can't create mcop directory

My ~/.libao:

>> cat ~/.libao
default_driver=oss

I need to use oss since alsa is not available on sunray systems.

I think this bug is actually a dupe of #390335, which has been reported
against xine since some time.

Since arts is pretty dead as upstream by now, I'd suggest to just
disable arts support from libao for now.
