OK. You know the code better than me, so I trust you there. This might
make the change less risky. Should we dare to upload anyway? Is there
some way to rule out ABI changes in the new version? We are running out
of time, and I will not have time to look at it this evening, and
tomorrow it might be too late.
Martin, you have been testing the new version for a while now? What is
your experience?

I do not know. I have not had time to look at the code changes in
detail. Getting security fixes in is a good argument for upgrading.
Which security fixes are currently missing in unstable?
