Bug#777209: libkate1 is not Multi-Arch compatible

I've tested this patch now in Jessie on top of the current git
version, but ran into some strange problems reported by lintian:

The same errors show up without the multiarch patch, and I suspect
this is related to the migration to the new python build environment.
But I am reluctant to upload a new version with so many lintian erros.

I've pushed my version of the patch as a new multiarch git branch.
Please check it out and help us get it ready to be uploaded into
Debian.
