Erik,

in theory that's possible (or instead of putting it into the same
package ship the old zope2.8 package along with it) - but I'm afraid
that using Zope 2.8 will make it impossible to ship Zenoss in Debian,
which is a bit frustrating, but there's no way around that. So we should
probably find a way to ship Debian packages in the meantime, for example
by creating a repository on your server.
