[Pkg-zenoss-team] dbconfig-common: statements as db admin with info about the db user

Hi Sean,
about dbconfig-common: is it possible to execute SQL statements as the
db administrator, but also having info about the configured db user?
My use case scenario is as follows. I need to execute "GRANT super on
*.* to <USER>@localhost". This statement is particular since it needs to
be executed as the db admin but it also needs to know the user name
chosen at postinst-time.
According to my reading of dbconfig-common documentation this is not
possible:
1) /usr/share/dbconfig-common/data/PACKAGE/install-dbadmin/DBTYPE is
executed as the db admin but has no access to database connection
information (since it's SQL it can't "source" external info, right?)
2) /usr/share/dbconfig-common/scripts/PACKAGE/install/DBTYPE has database
connection information but does not know how to connect as the
administrator to the db
Should I rely on (2) be executed as root and then discover how to
connect to the db as the db administrator? Other ideas?
Thanks in advance, ... and many thanks for dbconfig-common!
Cheers.
