Thank you everyone who contributed to this bug report.  I am afraid the
zfs maintainers in Debian is heavily understaffed.  But I found time to
fetch the upstream commit and apply it to the Debian git repository.

Please test the git version and let us know if it work for you.  I lack
the time to test it myself and without testing I do not want to upload
it.
