At the moment I don't see any reason why we'd need a skeleton support to
install Zeo instances. It's supported for Zope instances and that where
we want to use it.

Although I didn't test it - but here are my opinions based on reading
the code:
* we need something that's easy to integrate into the packaging
mechanism of Debian, zope-common/zope-debhelper are developed in
parallel and by people who use them for packaging to make sure they work
well together. Integrating and maintaining the bloated up code of
instancemanager is for sure more work then enhancing the existing
infrastructure. Remember that we'd have to check for breakages with
every new upstream version.
* Parts of it depend on an existing Zope installation - we need to be
independent of that.
* it brings too many plone specific things
In short: nothing that would be useful for packaging in a sane way.
Cheers,
Bernd
