dpkg.8 contains: 
 \fB\-D\fIoctal\fP | \fB\-\-debug=\fP\fIoctal\fP

This is broken since the first \fB is not closed. But groff is smart enough to deal with that (since it's in a TP argument, the stack gets emptied afterward), so po4a should do the same.

Actually, not allowing such constructs helps debuging pages (since, often, authors mess with those constructs). So, I'm not sure it's worth going through the pain of implementing a stack mecanism.
