When processing docbook format using po4a-gettextize:

results in:

But
<para>En France, au mois de Septembre 2004, je vivais une situation similaire : les médias diffusaient des messages de pénurie et que je constatais par moi-même que les magasins étaient pleins.</para>

results in:

msgid ""
"En France, au mois de Septembre 2004, je vivais une situation similaire : "

Is the "" trailing character needed ? Why not output:

#: introduction.docbook:22

"moi-même que les magasins étaient pleins."

It seems to be a gTranslator problem. These constructions are correct.

Just a quick note:

The trailing "" line breaks gTranslator software. The entries are considered fuzzy and cannot be marked "translated". Very problematic.
