Thanks for letting us know.  I also have trouble with this tarball,
several tests from t/05-config.t fail because of file permissions.
These are only packaging issues, I am working on it and will release
0.44 very soon.
But I cannot reproduce your problem with test 22, can you please give
the exact error message?
