[Pommed-devel] Backlight on Intel iMac

Hello,

I need some advice, and I hope my situation can be of interest to you,
as you have used the concerned code in pommed (in
trunk/pommed/mactel/x_1600_backlight.c).
I am a Ubuntu user. Until 7.10, I could use the attached program to
change the backlight level on my iMac. The video card (from lspci)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M56P [Radeon
Mobility X1600]. It's basically the same hardware as a contemporary
MacBook Pro.
Now I noticed that the program does not change the backlight level if I
run it in 8.04 (development release), although if I 'sudo backlight x'
it prints 'x' if I run it without argument afterwards. It is not related
to which kernel I run (2.6.22 or 2.6.24).
Maybe, to solve the problem, I should change the arguments of function
'outb', but really I have not much experience in programming (yet!),
particularly at this level; I thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,

Ludovico Fischer
