It always comes back with a "no such host" kind of error.
Most all ISPs want you to use their own smtp servers. This is why reportbug
added smtp-client capabilities.
If smtp-client capabilities are added, more people will be able to use
popcon, and, thus, you'll get more accurate statistics.
