[py3porters-devel] python-mode weirdness

Hi, I found a problem while trying to upgrade python-mode(6.1.3) to
py3. There is only one file(completion/test_complete.py) that is not
"python3-compatible". The problem is that the said test does not run
on the current version of python(2.7.9) either. The same file on the
latest upstream version(6.2.0) works as intended though it also needs
to be migrated.

What should I do?
Update the package to the current upstream and migrate it to py3
or
Fix the current debian version and then port it to python 3?
