[Reportbug-maint] Bug#573205: reportbug: Incorrect EMAIL and NAME in sent bug reports

jari jaalto at jondo.cante.net
Tue Mar 9 18:32:55 UTC 2010

Package: reportbug
Version: 4.10.2
Severity: normal

While composing the message, the reportbug(1) responds, after sending
the report, with a message:

    Bug report submitted to: "Debian Bug Tracking System" <submit at bugs.debian.org>
    Copies sent to:
      Debian Bug Tracking System <submit at bugs.debian.org>
      Jari Aalto <jari.aalto at cante.net>

But looking at the bug reports in the BTS, this is not the NAME or
EMAIL that was used:

    http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=573197

I'm not sure where reportbug(1) takes the values for the "From:"
field. In BTS it reads:

   From: "jari" <jaalto at jondo.cante.net>

Environment variables set:

    $ env | egrep -i '^(email|name|deb)'
    NAME=Jari Aalto
    DEBFULLNAME=Jari Aalto
    EMAIL=jari.aalto at cante.net

Content of ~/.reportbugrc:

    # ~/.reportbugrc

    mode            standard
    email           jari.aalto at cante.net
    realname        "Jari Aalto"

    # End of file
