[Reportbug-maint] Failed to connect to Debian bug database

Hi,

I have been trying to raise a bug against latest linux-image in
testing for a week now, but Reportbug always reports it failed to
connect to some Debian database. After this error I am not able to
type anything is the main edit panel.

Would it be possible to make this connection a bit more robust, e.g.
increase the timeout limit or try connecting to some alternate server?
It is really not usable this way :(
